Position Purpose
The Accounting Associate will assist with the general accounting functions of the organization, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger,
payroll, reconciliation of accounts, grant accounting, fixed asset control and depreciation. Core Accountabilities and Essential Duties
Accounting Functions
The Accounting Associate responds
to requests from Accounting Manager by performing accounts payables, account
receivables, tracking, and auditing duties:
- Process payables, which may include printing checks, on an as needed basis.
- Post agency accounts and processes accounts receivables in Primarius (inventory software) as directed by the Accounting Manager in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accept payments, in the form of checks or money orders, from agencies.
- Prepare and process bank deposits for both donations and agency payments.
- Operate a digital scanner to scan deposits to the bank using the bank’s online software.
- Maintain and enter credit card receipts in Dynamics and reconcile them to the monthly statement.
- Prepare reports in Dynamics as requested by the Accounting Manager and CFO.
- Assist with grant reports.
- Assist with agency phone calls and inquiries related to receivables.
- Review and process employee reimbursements.
- Assist with bank reconciliation and other duties related to month-end close.
- Assist with various internal and external audits.
- Participate in food bank departmental and organizational meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Requirements
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Over 1 year of related experience in an accounting position which includes payables, receivables, and general ledger entry. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred. Valid driver’s license required.
