“It’s amazing how many different individuals can benefit.”
–Norbert
Joe is a retired elementary school teacher, sharing that his mission in life has always been to be of service to the people around him. He is so thankful for your generosity that provides him with food now when he needs a little help.
Joe accesses food near Christine, ND, through the Great Plains Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry and Eagle Valley Food Pantry supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank. By accessing food through these avenues, Joe is able to direct his available funds ensuring his home is heated and he can pay for necessary medications.
A recent heart surgery prevented Joe from attending the last food distribution. He missed having fresh produce in his home and is grateful for the oranges he received at this distribution.
“The volunteers and the Great Plains Food Bank are so much appreciated,” he says.
Joe’s love of service is evident. He shares that to help some of his neighbors in need, he picks up food boxes for them when they are unable to attend due to a schedule conflict, weather or mobility issues.
Joe hopes to keep helping people in his community as much as he is able. He wants you to know how much you’ve helped him and countless other senior neighbors, and he encourages “everyone to get out and help people because it really does make all the difference.”
Thank you for making healthy food accessible to our neighbors of all ages across North Dakota and western Minnesota.
