FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank has a received a $10,000 grant through the 2023 Red Nose Day campaign that will directly benefit children in need throughout North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. Specifically, the grant dollars will help fund a trio of Great Plains Food Bank childhood hunger programs – BackPack Program, Youth Summer Meals and School Pantry Program.
Held annually to help children in need, the Red Nose Day campaign has raised over $200 million since 2015 with Feeding America’s network of 200 food banks across the nation, which includes the Great Plains Food Bank, receiving over $11.5 million.
Last year alone more than 47,000 children turned to the Great Plains Food Bank for needed food assistance, which accounted for 34 percent of the total number of individuals it served.
