FARGO, N.D. – The Chick-Fil-A Foundation is making it easier for students and their families in the Bismarck-Mandan area get the food assistance they need by awarding a $25,000 grant to the Great Plains Food Bank. The grant will provide 75,000 meals to help feed children and their families in need.
Specifically, the grant will bolster the Great Plains Food Bank School Pantry Program in Bismarck-Mandan. The school pantry program, which places a food pantry directly inside schools allowing an additional opportunity for food assistance for students and their families, provided more than 95,000 meals in 72 schools across North Dakota and Clay County, Minn., in 2021.
Along with the backpack program and youth summer meals program, the school pantry program is one of three Great Plains Food Bank programs specifically designed to combat childhood hunger.
