FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank has named state legislator Ruth Buffalo as the newest member of its board of directors along with naming its officer positions for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Buffalo began her three-year term on July 1.
Zack Dawson (Bell Insurance) will continue his role as chair of the Great Plains Food Bank Board of Directors while Pat Gulbranson (Family HealthCare) will serve as chair-elect, Jasper Schneider (Northern Municipal Power Agency) as treasurer and Kathy Schneider (CHI Mercy Hospital, former staff assistance to U.S. Senator Kent Conrad, healthcare and human service specialist) will serve as secretary.
Originally from Mandaree, N.D., Buffalo is a citizen of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation and has served in multiple capacities working to build healthy and safe communities. She was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 2018 representing district 27.
The Great Plains Food Bank features a 14-person board of directors and also includes: Stacey Ackerman (Wells Fargo Private Bank), Levi Bachmeier (West Fargo Public Schools), Aaron Becher (Forum Communications Company), Jessica Edland (North Dakota Farmers Union), Stacie Loegering (Emergency Food Pantry), Nancy Johnson (former North Dakota state legislature), David Maring (Maring Williams Law Office), Terry Rockstad (Rockstad Foundation, Azimuth World Foundation, Rockstad Real Estate & Investments) and
Marti Sunderlin (Hornbacher’s Foods).
