Michael, 64, has a smile that spreads from ear to ear, and on this day in particular, his smile has a lot to do with his community and people just like you.
We met Michael at the Dream Center food pantry in Mandan, ND, which is supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank. Michael shares that he was working as a contractor when everything suddenly changed for him. A serious back injury left him unable to work.
Currently, Michael is without a permanent home and lives at a temporary shelter. Due to his circumstances lately, he has not been eating on a regular basis.
Thanks to friends like you, Michael has somewhere to turn to for nutritious food. He is picking up fresh fruits and vegetables and plenty of healthy staples to nourish his body while he works to get back on his feet.
“It’s great,” Michael says of the food, including a big package of fresh tomatoes that he is especially thrilled about.
Michael and thousands of other neighbors who access food assistance are thankful for friends like you. Thank you for partnering with us these past 40 years. Together, we are ending hunger.
