Campaign has now provided more than 1.3 million meals since 2011 for Great Plains Food Bank
FARGO, N.D. – Hornbacher’s customers made a tremendous commitment to the fight to end hunger at the checkout lanes with a $80,898 donation to the Great Plains Food Bank through their annual Feed Hope campaign. This is the single-largest donation since the campaign started in 2011.
During the campaign, Hornbacher’s customers were asked to make donations at the checkout lanes during December 2019 at locations in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo. The donation is enough to provide more than 242,000 meals to help fight hunger across North Dakota and western Minnesota.
In the nine-year history of Feed Hope, the campaign has raised a total of $436,709.10 to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank, which is enough to provide more than 1.3 million meals for those in need. The highest donation amount previously was $65,464 in 2017.
“Each and every day we see the incredible impact Hornbacher’s is making in our mission to end hunger. This significant donation is a testament to how passionate both Hornbacher’s and their customers are about partnering in our work,” Great Plains Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Steve Sellent said. “From their food donations, which provided over 1.1 million meals last year, to this loyal support from its customers, we are grateful to have a partner like Hornbacher’s stand alongside us in making sure everyone in our area has nutritious food on the table.”
“We are proud partners of the Great Plains Food Bank as they continue to lead the fight to end hunger in our community,” Hornbacher’s President Matt Leiseth said. “The continued generous support from our customers is overwhelming and we thank them for the support they provide to those in need.”
