FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank has selected officers for its 12-member board of directors. Former North Dakota state legislator Nancy Johnson will serve as board-chair with Zack Dawson (Bell Insurance) serving as chair-elect. Additionally, Jasper Schneider (Northern Municipal Power Agency) has been elected treasurer and Jessica Edland (North Dakota Farmers Union) secretary.
The Great Plains Food Bank also welcomed Stacie Loegering (Emergency Food Pantry), Stacy Ackerman (Wells Fargo) and Pat Gulbranson (Family HealthCare) as new members to its board of directors.
“At the Great Plains Food Bank, our board of directors play a critical role in our mission to end hunger through community partnerships,” Great Plains Food Bank CEO Steve Sellent said. “Each member of our board shares our values of passion, service and innovation and we are thankful for their leadership and commitment to the more than 97,000 children, seniors and families struggling with hunger who turn to us for food assistance.”

Once elected, each member of the Great Plains Food Bank Board of Directors serves a three-year term.

Now it its 36th year, the Great Plains Food Bank serves as North Dakota’s only food bank. Its partner network includes 213 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable feeding programs operating in 99 communities across N.D. and Clay County, Minn.
