BAM Fargo chapter looks to collect over 100,000 diapers throughout October to help struggling families
FARGO, N.D. – Fargo’s chapter of Blacks at Microsoft (BAM), a national employee resource group that looks to advance Microsoft’s global diversity and inclusion strategy, is taking an active role to help fill a critical need for the Great Plains Food Bank by hosting a diaper drive throughout the month of October.
The group is challenging the community members to contribute to the diaper drive and has the goal of collecting more than 100,000 diapers to benefit struggling families across North Dakota and western Minnesota.
“I'm thrilled that BAM Fargo is partnering with the Great Plains Food Bank to address diaper need,” said Brian Saunders, member of the BAM Fargo Board of Directors. “Having a daughter myself, this drive is very near to my heart. I want to do my part in ensuring no family has to worry about providing diapers for their children.”
Anyone interested in helping by donating diapers can fill out the form HERE and BAM Fargo members will coordinate specifics of your diaper donation. Donations can also be dropped off directly at the Great Plains Food Bank (1720 3rd Avenue North, Fargo, N.D.).
The Great Plains Food Bank serves as the only member of the National Diaper Bank Network in the state of North Dakota. When families are struggling with food insecurity, they will also struggle to purchase items such as diapers. There are more than 34,000 children under the age of three in the state of North Dakota and more than 20 percent of families live below the poverty line.
