FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank has elected officers for its 12-member board of directors. Former North Dakota state legislator Nancy Johnson has been elected to serve as board chair while Zack Dawson (Dawson Insurance) was elected chair-elect, Diane Nelson (Business Banking Bremer Bank) was named secretary and Marti Sunderlin (Hornbacher’s Foods) will continue to serve as treasurer.
Additionally, the Great Plains Food Bank welcomes Jasper Schneider (National Information Solutions Cooperative) and Kathleen Wrigley (Shiloh Christian School) as new members of its board of directors.
“At the Great Plains Food Bank, we continue to expand our programs and services in our mission to end hunger and our dedicated board members play a critical role in these efforts,” said Steve Sellent, CEO of the Great Plains Food Bank, which provided food to a record 97,170 hungry individuals in 2017 across North Dakota and in Clay County, Minn. “Our board of directors each encompass our values of passion, service and innovation and we are excited to welcome these officers into their new positions and look forward to the continued leadership from our board of directors over the next year.”

Now it its 35th year, the Great Plains Food Bank serves as North Dakota’s only food bank. Its partner network includes 213 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable feeding programs operating in 99 communities across N.D. and Clay County, Minn.
