Sammons Financial Donates $20,000 to Great Plains Food Bank

FARGO, N.D. – The Great Plains Food Bank has received a generous $20,000 gift donation from the Fargo office of the Charitable Contributions Committee of Sammons Financial that will significantly enhance its abilities to get fresh produce into the hands of those in need.

The donation will directly supply additional fresh produce to the Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry Program, Senior Food Pack Program, School Pantry Program, Kids Summer Lunch Program, Perishable Food Distributions and 215 charitable feeding programs across N.D. and Clay County, Minn.

“Generous gifts like this from Sammons Financial are critical in helping us better meet the needs of the one in nine North Dakotans who turn to us for food assistance each year,” Great Plains Food Bank CEO Steve Sellent said. “This donation will be a big boost to our growing programs and services.”

“It’s humbling to consider that so many members of our community are in need of fresh produce,” said Ron Ottenbacher, President, Sammons Corporate Markets, a division of Sammons Financial Group. “It is a privilege for us to partner with the Great Plains Food Bank in their noble effort to end hunger in North Dakota and western Minnesota.”
