CHS Harvest for Hunger Raises Nearly $112,000 to Benefit Great Plains Food Bank

FARGO, N.D. – The Northland Region of CHS Country Operations presented the Great Plains Food Bank with a check for $111,910.39 Friday as part of their annual CHS Harvest for Hunger food, funds and grain drive. Since the program’s launch in 2011, more than $4.7 million and 3.4 million pounds of food have been raised nationwide benefitting food shelves and other charitable organizations served by CHS.

The Northland Region of CHS Country Operations participated in the 2017 Harvest for Hunger drive held March 1-20 by holding auctions, raffles, fish feeds, receiving grain donations and other activities to help raise food and funds.

“Hunger is a reality for many in our communities and we may not even know it. Through CHS Harvest for Hunger, we are helping those in need. And because we work with other CHS Country Operations locations, every dollar and donation stretches even further to make a much greater impact in the fight against hunger, and today we are proud to present this check to the Great Plains Food Bank for $111,910.39 to help food pantries throughout N.D.,” says Tom Lehar, CHS Northland Region vice president.
